How We Work

Web design involves more than just having the technical skills to build a website. It involves helping you communicate what your business is about to your audience. So if we don’t know all about you, how can we create the great website you’re looking for?

That’s why the first thing we do when working with our clients is really get to know you.

All of my clients are unique and have different goals when it comes to their websites. But when we’re working with you, we want to hear you talk about your business, your needs, and your vision – all from your point of view. We want you to answer lots of questions for us, such as what response you want your visitors to have, what your call-to-action is, etc.

Once we have an idea of who you are and what you want your new web design to do, we get down to it. But even then, we still don’t get right to designing your website.

We think about what you’ve told us. A lot, in fact.

We do our homework and research what others in your market are doing that works or doesn’t work. We take into account your existing brand, logo, and most importantly, your audience.

We look at the content you have already, and get you thinking about what kind of content you need to have on the website. We give you different options for how you want your website built: do you want to use a content management system such as WordPress, or do you want a regular HTML website?

We ask you what unique features you would like, and make our recommendations for what things might work well for you.

Only after we have all that information do we actually start designing.

Once we know how we can best accomplish your goals, we get down to the actual design work. We’ll create wireframes for you to review and approve. If you want changes, we’ll make them.

When everyone is in agreement, it’s time to start building your new website. We’ll take your new or existing content and start incorporating it into the design we’ve chosen. We’ll write the HTML/CSS code, and start getting everything organized to the point where we’ll be ready to show it to you.

We like to keep our clients in touch with how their project is going, and we may very well have additional questions for you along the way.

You’ll get a chance to see your new website before we launch it.

No website is perfect the first go-round, and there very well may be some last minute revisions or changes. There may still be content missing. It happens. By this point though, nothing on your new website should come as a surprise – that’s the beauty of working with you from the very beginning.

Once we finalize everything, we’ll handle launching your website for you – from final optimization to submitting it to the search engines and more. We’ll make sure that everything goes smoothly, and that any wrinkles that were missed before launch are smoothed out.
